Lawrence Eddy Obituary

Funeral mass for Lawrence E. Larry Eddy 79 will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday November 28 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Richard L. Mickey officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Eddy died Friday November 25 2005 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born on April 15 1926 in Indian River Michigan the son of the late Walter and Ida Georke Eddy. He was a graduate of Michigan State University. He retired from Porter-Cable as Manager of Product Engineering on June 30 1987. He served in World War II in the Navy. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church Jackson. He also served as Eucharistic Minster both at church and to the sick. He was a recipient of the Mater Dei Award. He was a devoted husband father grandfather; great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Doris Eddy of Jackson TN; one daughter Susan Guerra and husband Canzio of Spring TX; one son Walter Eddy of Jackson TN; grandchildren Laura Mathus and husband Martin Julie Guerra of Spring TX; Justin L. Eddy Michelle Eddy and Misty Gordon of Jackson TN; great-grandson Liam Mathus; and two sisters Patricia Van Allen of Allanson Michigan and Marcy Twining of Indian River Michigan. Mr. Eddy was preceded in death by his brother Herman Eddy his favorite hunting partner. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. The family will receive friends today from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel 731-427-5555
