Lynn Payne Obituary

December 30 1944 - November 14 2006 Lynn Dement Payne 61 of Kenton died 3:50 p.m. November 14 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Union City where she was a member. Burial will follow in Sunny Side Cemetery in Kenton. The Rev. Eddie Mallonee and her son the Rev. Randy Coleman will officiate. Friends may call at the church from 5-9 p.m. Friday. Dilday Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Bill Dement Alan Dement Joe Dement Jason Dement Chris Dement and Robert Norton. The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church organ fund 831 Everett Blvd. Union City TN 38261. She was born Dec. 30 1944 in Union City daughter of the late Willie George and Mary Hunt Dement. She married Geoffrey Payne March 19 1976. He survives. She was a graduate of Brenau Academy in Gainesville GA and Gulf Park College in Long Beach Miss. and she served as secretary-treasurer for Payne Steel Erectors Inc. in Kenton. She was an artist who worked in many media including jewelry and was also a pianist. Survivors also include her daughter and son-in-law Stacey and Craig Smith of Dickson; three sons and two daughters-in-law Michael Payne of Smyrna the Rev. Randy and Janna Coleman of Alexandria KY. and Brian and Lisa Coleman of Cordova; her brother and sister-in-law W.G. "Sonny" and Beth Dement of Jackson; and seven grandchildren Ian Smith and Tate Smith both of Dickson Adam Coleman Andrew Coleman and Addison Coleman all of Alexandria and Lauren Coleman and Daniel Coleman both of Cordova.
