Mell Bratcher Obituary
Jackson, TN
Mell Leon Bratcher, age 82 of Jackson, passed away on Friday, August 5 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter, and Annie M. Howell Bratcher.
Mell and his family moved to Pinson, TN in 1951.
In 1959 Mell and Dorothy (Dot) Harris started the home improvement business Jackson storm window & door company. Mell continued to build this family-owned business until he retired in 2014. Mell was a very active member of Meridian Baptist Church where he served on the building committee and various other committees. He had a big heart and was always willing to help those in need and he possessed a great love for animals.
He is survived by his three daughters, Pat Dotson and husband Randy, Kathy Maness, and Gail Lewis and husband Charley, all of Jackson; special friends, Linda and Buddy Rogers; he also leaves every man's best friend and sidekick, Peanut; his grandsons, Brandon Browing, Dylan Marcom (Casey), and Chad Lewis (Robin); granddaughters, Brandi Slaughter (Nick), Meg Henley (Brandon), and Stacy McDonald; and 15 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 5-8 pm at Meridian Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 1 pm at Meridian Baptist Church with Dr. John E. Enoch and Dr. Ronnie Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers to serve will be Dylan Marcom, Brandon Browning, Brandon Henley, Stone White, Jake White, Chad Lewis, and Nick Slaugher.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to Meridian Baptist Church, 161 Harts Bridge Rd., Jackson, TN 38301.
