Charlene M. Eberle, 86

Charlene Marie Eberle, 86, of Lafayette, died at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, in Green Tree Assisted Living of West Lafayette surrounded by her family. She was born June 14, 1926, in Lafayette, to the late Arthur and Marie (Bloom) Ford.

She attended St Francis High School here in Lafayette. On August 26, 1943, she married James E Eberle, who survives. They have been inseparable from then. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary one week ago. Charlene was a member of the Brown Street United Methodist Church for over 70 years, member of the Sigma Alpha Sorority and past president and founded the Tippecanoe Chapter Cinderella Doll Club. Charlene was an avid collector of dolls and a certified doll doctor restoring and repairing dolls from all over the country. She enjoyed sewing for all of her family and friends and tending her gardens.

But her greatest joy was that of being a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew her. Surviving are Husband, two sons, James E. Eberle Jr. (wife Nancy), Lafayette and Steven P. Eberle (wife Lora), West Lafayette; daughter, Jenny (Eberle/Stivers) Mourning (husband Bill), Tierra Verde, Florida. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sisters; five brothers; one grandson and one great-grand son

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, Funeral Service 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel; the Rev. Bruce Mowery Officiating. Burial will be at Springvale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Brown St. United Methodist Church. 905 Brown St. Lafayette, IN 47904.
