Craig Moore, 61

Craig Moore, 61, of Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice at Weiss Memorial Hospital on August 17, 2016.

Born in Los Alamos, he moved with his family to Phoenix, AZ, Downey, CA and finally West Lafayette, IN. He graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1972 and Michigan State University in 1976. He eventually settled in Chicago where he completed Master's programs in Urban Planning and Policy and Computers/Telecommunications. Craig was active in the community throughout his 30 year residence in Chicago, a city that he loved. He was active in the Chicago Newton Chapter of Al-Anon, serving as a Board Member. He was also involved in the Chicago's Center on Halstead, a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community center.

Craig was also a devoted son. Leaving his career at the Nursing Board to support his mother, Mary Watts Moore, as her health declined; continuing to live with her and care for her until her death in 2014. Craig was also predeceased by his father, Bruce K. Moore, in 1987.

He is survived by his sister, Valerie Moore, of Ringoes, NJ and his brother, Doug Moore, of San Mateo, CA. Condolences and remembrances can be sent to [email protected]. Donations may be sent to the Center on Halstead at https://community.centeronhalsted.org/DonateNow .
