We heard of Daniel's death last Saturday night at Jake's in Monticello... the remainder of the evening tears just ran down my face, they would not stop... this news hit us very hard. What a joy and a remarkable young man he was. We only knew Daniel casually - over this summer up at Jake's. Yet his death has rocked my world... I know it must be a terrible loss for you and your family!! Please know there was something about Daniel... charismatic, loving, funny and so vibrant and alive - a great kid. He touched us, he touched our lives... and we miss him! We went up to say good-bye to Daniel this Labor Day weekend before Jake's closed for the year... we were going to have our picture taken with him and make plans to stay in touch... The week before Daniel shared pics of a black lab he had found and was so excited to give this pup a home and his love. We laughed and talked and at one point he put his arms around my husband and I's shoulders and said "
I love you guys!" What a great kid! WE have learned that Daniel made
MANY people feel as special as he made us feel. We loved him too. Please know he remains in our thoughts daily and our heart goes out to you during this time of loss.

We still have a lot of grief.
Things I remember about Daniel:
Neil (my husband) always saying what a great kid he was helping with the AV at church and getting to know him as his mentor during his church confirmation course.
Playing drums with the church youth band with my daughters Jinty and Briagha.
My daughters always telling me the silly things he would say and do.
Jinty calling him to get to the church band practices.
Helping my daughter Jinty with her high school math.
Piggy back race in a parking lot during the Myrtle Beach West Lafayette Band orchestra trip. He had a smaller girl on his back and his friend Michael Kim had another fellow on his back. I remember him smiling and running around all the time. I was a chaperone during that trip.
Offering me cash when I had trouble finding it in my purse, after the Silver Ring Thing
Rally with him and Jinty.
Daniel playing percussion at the Church Choir Cantatas even though he looked tired and practices were early.
He is in heaven now, but he will be missed. It is good to share these memories.

We so enjoyed visiting with Daniel the times he was our server at Jake's Beach House in Monticello. Chase told him I was a gardener so we had a great time discussing what varieties of tomatoes I like and websites for garden hardware.
We have been deeply saddened to hear of his untimely death and want to let you know we are thinking of his family as you mourn the loss of such a dear young man.
We wanted to let you know he touched our lives in a special, bright way.
May knowledge of the joy he shared with others comfort you as you grieve the loss of your dear one.

We met Daniel on Aug. 17, at Jake's. We were still there after the crowd had gone and Daniel sat/stood by the banister and talked with us (and our little dog). We were impressed with his enthusiasm and desire to decide on a career. He could have been our grandson the way we conversed. We went back to Jake's on Thursday, the29th, hoping to run into him again and they were closed. Now that we know why, our hearts are so saddened by the news. God Bless your family.

So sorry to learn of the loss of your beloved son. I have a loved one who waited 11 months for a donor heart. The gift of life that Daniel made possible is humbling. Thousands die every year waiting for an organ. Thanks be to God for those who donate an organ. God's grace and peace be with you.

Kline Family-
My condolences go to you during this time. I knew Daniel ever since I can remember: playing little league baseball, music and soccer in high school. There are certain people in this world who have the ability to light up a room and put everyone around them in a good mood- Daniel was one of those people. I will always remember the countless times he brought a smile to my face. God bless you.

Stu, Suzie, and Adrienne, I first meet Daniel when Stu brought him to the barbershop to get his haircut, he was a very shy little guy and was not to sure about me cutting his hair. I only got to be around Daniel for those early years at the barbershop and on the baseball field. He was a joy to be around and will be sadly missed by all who new him. My heart and prayers goes out to Stu and Suzie and Adrienne.

Daniel and I were friends from high school, I work right down the street from him at Greyhouse and went to the den several times a week for the classic Den pop and every time I came in we had sweet conversations about how life has been since high school! What's new and he was ALWAYS so kind to ask me about my life! I truly will miss seeing, and talking to him on a weekly basis there! My prayers go out to the Kline Family, I cannot imagine how hard this must be for you all. He was a wonderful young man with the kindest most tender heart for everyone around him. Bless you all.

Our boys, Tom and Jeff Lageveen, thought the world of Daniel. Over the years they have played soccer with him, played in the monster concert with him, and played a lot of music with him in percussion ensemble at school. Our heart goes out to you in your suffering. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you constantly since Tom told us about it. May God grant you His peace....the only peace possible at this time.
