Edith Dexter Obituary
Monticello - Edith F. Dexter, 91, of Monticello, passed away January 21, 2018, at the Indiana University Health, White Memorial Hospital of Monticello, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 16, 1926, in Gary to the late Charles H. and Jessie (Kirk) Green. In 1947, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, she married Robert R. "Bob" Dexter; he survives.
Edith and her great friend, Connie Brouillette, co-founded and built Green - Hill Manor Nursing Home of Fowler in 1971 and she retired as the director of nursing from there.
Surviving are husband, Robert G. "Bob" Dexter of Monticello; children, Robert G. (Alyce) Dexter, II of Noblesville, Kim A. (Jerry) Bowley of Remington, Scott J. Dexter of LaPorte, and Douglas A. (Debra) Dexter of Covington; twelve grandchildren; twenty - four great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Beverly Green of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be from 12:00 (noon) to 2:30 p.m., January 25th at the Miller - Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello. Rosary Service followed by Celebration of Life Service will be at the funeral home starting at 2:30 p.m., January 25th.
Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello.
