Herbert Fields Obituary
Otterbein - Herbert Francis Fields, 87, of Otterbein, died, Tuesday, December 18, 2018. He was born, February 10, 1931, in White Co., IN, to the late William "Bill" & Mary Louise (Cowger) Fields. He married Doris (Trueblood) Fields, April 7, 1957, in Brookston; she survives. He was a 1949 graduate of Round Grove High School. Herb was a Korean War Veteran; serving in the United States Army. He was a Farmer & had also worked at Von Tobel Lumber. He was a member of the Montmorenci Baptist Church & had served as a Sunday school teacher & Deacon at the Fowler & Otterbein Baptist Churches. He was a FFA Chapter Farmer & had served on the Bolivar Township Board & the Benton County Fair Board. He was a NRA Advocate & American Legion member.
Surviving with his Wife, Doris Fields, are 5 Sons, Jeff (Jean) Fields, Jerry (Linda) Fields, Mark Fields, John (Molly) Fields & Jason (Jamie) Fields, 13 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren & a Brother, Howard (Karen) Fields. He is preceded in death by a Brother, Dean Fields.
Visitation will be, Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein, from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 12 PM, with Pastor Donnie Ely officiating. Burial will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, with Military honors. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Benton Central FFA. Herb's Family would like to thank the staff at Green-Hill Manor for their care & support the past 2 years.
