John Magee Obituary
Attica - John Charles Magee, 58, died at 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
John Charles was born on January 7, 1961 in Lafayette. He was the son of Arvilla M. (Bossaer) Magee and the late Charles A. Magee. He had lived all of his life in the Riverside area and graduated from Attica High School in 1979. He was formerly married to Lisa Morris.
John Charles had worked in construction putting up drywall for Poynter's Drywall for several years. He was a member of the Indiana Roofers Union #119. He loved to pitch horseshoes, bowling and racing. He was a fan of Purdue Sports and the Chicago Cubs.
Surviving along with his mother, Arvilla, are three cousins, Jeff (Peggy) Bossaer, Attica, Gregory (Betsy) Bossaer, Reynolds, and Michael (Alma) Bossaer, Attica; five step-nephews, Mike, John, David, Steve & Paul, all of Louisville, KY; good friends, Chris Poynter & Randy Stein; and caregivers, Mattie McDaniel, Rose Weatherford, Ruthie Larson & Connie Williamson. He was also preceded in death by a half brother, Buddy LeeRoy Magee; uncles and aunts, John & Pauline Bossaer and Glen & Janet Bossaer; and cousins, Susan (Bossaer) Milach & Shiela (Bossaer) Gustus.
Visitation will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, July 17, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Contributions may be made to the Bethel Community Church. Condolences may be sent online at mausfuneralhome.com

were do i start john was a true friend and bro
i can remember staying nights when being kids i loved to stay in his old farm house with the tin roof on a rainy night he had a old feather mattress with some steve miller band or lynyrd skynyrd on the 8 track boy you would sleep like a baby
we had it going on we shared the same birthday 1/7/61 i can remember working in the cafeteria in school with his mother arvilla and chromies mother pauline me and scotty T did dishes they would became are whole class adopted mothers but back to john he was a true gift from god never heard him say a bad word about any one i remember hanging out at the country store in riverside john&me & red dog& russ& chromie& rob eller doing things guys do in the 70,s going cruising in them tanks we called cars hanging out at the gas station were he worked i think gas was 35cents gal that was the good old days me and him & chromie by the way we gave him that name in biology class any way we went rabbit hunting and chromie got tangled in a fence and broke his leg he was just hanging there me and john could not stop laughing trying to get the big ox out me rick john became close friends john we will have to wait too celebrate are birthday in heaven with jesus he was a capricorn too and did i see julie bauerband sent a note i was looking at are kindergarten pic the other day i set right beside you i had my head down you was my first crush ////you to patricia lol if any one would like to call 765-299-1215//// I HOPE JULIE,S N0T A TEACHER MY GRAMMER NOT THE BEST BUT WE ARE ROLL OUT THE CARPET BRING OUT THE WINE WERE THE CLASS OF 79 love to hear from you

I knew John from working with him. He was always helpful and willing to give an inexperienced carpentry apprentice advice on how to make everyone's job easier, but I'll never forget how him & Chris Poynter had my back when I was just starting out. You will be missed John, but it was an absolute pleasure and privilege to know you. Rest easy, my friend.

One of the earliest memories upon coming to thearea. John was active in school activities and his enthusiasm contributed to school's direction at the time. Special care goes to his mother who served the school in the cafeteria for many years.
