Mary Rishel Obituary
Mary L. Rishel, 90, of Delphi, passed away on March 2, 2015 at Milner Community Healthcare, Rossville.
Mary was born on Oct. 11, 1924 in Gastonia, NC to the late William H. and Ether (Pressley) Heathcote. Mary attended Delphi High School before her marriage to Rodney L. Rishel on Dec. 22, 1939 in Delphi. He preceded her on July 26, 2012.
Mary retired from Purdue University in June 1988 where she worked in the duplicating office in the Dept. of Physics Bldg for 15 years. Prior to that she had worked at Painters & Decorators and Andovers in Lafayette for several years.
Mrs. Rishel was a member of the Delphi Wesleyan Church and the Allied Trades Local #80.
Mary's hobbies were birdwatching, mushroom hunting, gardening, fishing, and tending her flowers.
She is survived by her children: Rodney "Gene" Rishel, Marlene Joseph, Judith Rishel all of Delphi, and David L. Rishel of Lansing, MI; 11 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Mary was also preceded by her sister, Bernice Yerk and brothers, Ralph and George Heathcote.
Visitation will be at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service. Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Delphi.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

My grandma was a very special lady. I remember sitting at the table with her and watching the birds out the window. Her voice always calming. I love you Grams and you will be missed by many.

I remember your Mom as we worked together in the Psych Dept. at Purdue. She and I had lunch together everyday (some where different) for the two years we worked together. She was a Dear and I know she loved you all greatly. RIP Friend
