Meredith McGill Obituary
Meredith George McGill, 84, of West Lafayette Soldier's Home, formerly of Clarks Hill and Colfax, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette.
He was born on January 20, 1932 in Clinton County to Noah Millard and Opal (Unger) McGill. He is a 1951 graduate of Clarks Hill High School and served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict. He married Bonnie Milburn in 1956 and they later divorced. Mr. McGill farmed with his father in the Clarks Hill area for 26 years and worked for Fairfield Manufacturing in Lafayette for 19 years.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Millard Ray McGill of West Lafayette and Roger Lee McGill of Romney; 1 Grandson, and 2 Great Grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2016 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center in Frankfort. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. McGill's honor to the Lafayette American Legion Post 11 with envelopes available at the funeral home. You are invited to visit archerweston.com where you may order flowers and leave a condolence for the McGill family.

Meredith liked to make popsicle stick art. The Veterans' Home still has a flag that he made on display at the Snack Bar. I won't forget him in his overalls, his laugh and his smile.

it was a joy to have taken care of merdith he was a man you could talk too and learn from. i took care of merdith for 5 yrs and he was always a smile on him even he was not feeling good

It was an honor to know and serve Meredith.
He was a special soul here at the Veterans' Home.
Meredith added so much local color, character and charm here.
He will be long remembered.
