Rita VonTobel Obituary
Rita M. VonTobel, 95, of West Lafayette, IN, died at 8:15 PM Sunday, October 19, 2014 at University Place West Lafayette with her daughter by her side. She was born April 4, 1919, in Schattdorf, Switzerland, to the late Marcel and Celestine Benelli Aimi. On March 8, 1944 she married Harry P. VonTobel in Eupen, Belgium, and he passed away on October 26, 2005.
Mrs. VonTobel enjoyed cooking, golf, reading, knitting, reading, dancing, playing piano and fine jewelry. Rita enjoyed the time with her family and she loved being around children.
Surviving are her daughter Anita VonTobel, West Lafayette; brother Marcel (Hilde)Aimi of Florida; sisters, Bruna Aimi, Anita Aimi Bodson, both of Belgium; grandchildren, Travis VonTobel, Brandon VonTobel, Alexa VonTobel (Cliff Ryan); and daughter-in-law Darlene.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 11am-1pm at St. Thomas Aquinas, West Lafayette,
Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1PM. Entombment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens
Preceded in death by a son Harry VonTobel Jr.

Rita was a bright ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. I loved being her Optician and helping her pick beautiful new glasses. She loved fashion and knew beauty. She will be forever a sweet memory of hugs and many smiles to me.

Rita was always a positive force I our lives. She did everything to perfection. Rita was one of the most accomplished persons I have ever known, whether it was the many languages she spoke her vast knowledge of antiques, gems & her culinary skills. From when we were children til now, no one could top her 'RITA kisses. We love you forever and will miss you. We know you are in heaven with Harry, your beloved son, & our folks

My memories of our beloved Rita go way back to my childhood. She was a joy to behold, with her ready laugh, sparkling eyes, great hugs and kisses. Heaven is blessed with her presence. My love to my dear Anita, who has been such an incredible daughter!
