Stephanie Alford Obituary

Stephanie J. Alford

Stephanie Jean "Stephie" Alford, 22, of Lafayette, passed away at IU Health Arnett Hospital at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Born January 31, 1992 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of Steve Alford (wife, Brandy) of Lafayette and Amy Foley of Monticello. She was a member of Eastwoods Christian Church in Lafayette.

Surviving with her parents is her son, Xavier Paul Alford-LeHay and Xavier's father, Donnie LaHay-Windsor both of Dayton, Ohio, her five brothers and four sisters, Leigha Dawn Robinson, Brittany Alford, Zach Alford, Jacob Alford, Austin Lush, Morgan Zink, Auston Martin, Logan Martin, and Kaylee Martin; maternal grandmother, Sharon Foley of Lafayette, maternal step-grandmother, Teresa Foley of Lafayette, paternal grandmother, Cindy Barton (husband, Robert) of Lafayette; five aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Stephie was a loved daughter, granddaughter, mother, and sister. She was a very outgoing soul who will be missed dearly. Her friends and family loved her smile that lit up the hearts of all who were blessed to see it. She loved roller coasters, animals, and getting her way. She worked with her dad on all his big ideas, begrudgingly sometimes, but always with a smile. Showing video clips of her son, Xavier, to all those she loved made her day, saying, "he is the cutest baby ever". Those who loved her will forever cherish and miss the short time we had with her here on earth. She is now in heaven with her grandpa Steve, great grandmother "Grammy" Jean, who she was named after and grandpa Richard, who is tickling her ear lobe just about now. We love you very, very much Stephanie Jean Alford.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Visitation also one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. at Eastwoods Christian Church, 5872 E. 50 S., Lafayette, IN, with Pastor Bill Sebald officiating. Burial to follow at Battle Ground Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for her son, Xavier. Hippensteel Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
