Thomas Jaskal Obituary
Thomas P. "Tom" Jaskal, 65, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. Born May 30, 1947, in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of the late Julius and Sara (Murphy) Jaskal. Tom served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1971 during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged as Sergeant Jaskal. His marriage was to Colleen A. Faurote on October 2, 1999 in Lafayette and she survives. Tom came to Lafayette and worked for 30 years in the Grounds Department in Pest Management at Purdue University, retiring in November of 2010 as a Crew Chief in Pest Management. His memberships include the Buck Creek United Methodist Church and the VFW Post # 1154. Tom enjoyed watching movies about all kinds of history, being outside with God's creation, and spending time with friends and family, especially his granddaughter.
In addition to his wife, Colleen, Tom is survived by a son, Jason Jaskal of Lafayette and a daughter, Kayla Faurote of Lafayette, Colleen's mother, Jane Faurote of Lafayette, four brother-in-laws, Tom (Lisa) Parker, Todd Parker, Earl (Laura) Faurote, and James (Rhonda Butler) Faurote, a sister-in-law, Tiffany (Mitch Daniels) Faurote, all of Lafayette, three grandchildren, Jayden Leigh, Mary Jane, and Madeline Rae, and two nieces, Mycah Ann and Ashleigh Ann.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Frank Faurote.
Visitation 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with Jim Davidson, Jr. officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with military honors.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Buck Creek United Methodist Church or to the Family.
