May your sadness at the loss of your mother be eased each time you think of her. Both she and your father were treasures for the community. Each time I was in their company, I felt uplifted. You were blessed to have had her--and him. With deepest sympathy.

Shelley, Timmy, Perry and all of Mrs. Johnson's friends and relatives:
I just want you to all know how saddened I am to hear about the loss of Mrs. Johnson. I'm not really sure what the right words are to use in such a time. While sad, I must admit to you that virtually every thought about both your mom and dad bring a smile to my face. I have very vivid memories from those days of my childhood and there all good ones. Some of the key words that create those smiles on my face are Tastee Freeze, Piggly Wiggly, Toot-n-tell it, boxing, hunting, fishing, bridge, football and so many more. While it's been way too long since I have seen all of you, until father time prevents it, the runaway lawn mower ride, the freezing face associated with going to collect the nets from the inland waterway, the break out of your house, getting my first shotgun, watching Duke jump over my mom at the beach, giving your mom the most trouble possible while shopping in Piggly Wiggly, being shaken upside down to get the fish bone I was choking on out of my throat and so many other memories will always be part of my heart and soul. I owe so much to your mom (and dad) for all they taught me and generously gave me asking nothing in return that I hope these few words can give some minimal indication of how I feel about them.
I know your mom is with God now and I hope that I can earn the privilege of seeing her there with your dad when I am called. Her loss takes away a small part of my heart but the memories and love for her fill that up with much to spare.
God bless you all. Your mom will always be the best mom that didn't deliver me.

Dear Shelly and family,
So many people loved your mom and I too loved her. We were in school together, dated our boyfriends together, enjoyed sleep overs at each other homes. We laughed and giggled and enjoyed life. What a great friend
to be a teenager with. We kept in touch throughout our adulthood, sharing updates and always finding
something to laugh about. I too miss
her.
May God warm your hearts with all good
memories and dreams of her,

My mom volunteered me to play bridge as a substitute a few times and I loved playing with Mrs. Johnson because I knew I would have a good laugh! She, also, let me honor my dad's personal joke to have "hot wings" for people in line at his funeral. Mrs. Johnson was so accommodating and encouraged me to do it! There are special jewels in her crown in heaven for her way of helping people at their lowest times! She possessed the true southern charm of a wonderful lady. Thanks for sharing her with all of us!

Shelly, Timmy, Perry and the rest of the Johnson family, you are all in our prayers. Of course you know your Mom made a difference in so many ways. One of the ways she touched our lives was through her opening the funeral home for Bible study for youth during the beginning days of the business. What a great idea it was! Her bright and ready smile will be missed!

Shelley, hi it's Elizabeth Jones Sexton. We have been friends for a long time now. I feel your loss for I have been there. And your mom was there for me. Yes she was there when I lost my dad. But your mom was really my rock when I lost my mom. I felt my whole world had fell apart. My mom was my best friend. I had to get clothes for my mom and brought them to your mom. I knew she was in good hands. When my brother and I had to view my mother, she looked so great. Your
mom hugged me and said, "I did my best to fix her beautifully." And she did cause your mom was the best at her job. Saying goodbye was the hardest but your mom once again made it bearable. She knew how hard it was and was there for me. I will never forget her. She was a great lady. My heart goes out to you and your brothers.
May God Bless you.
