We have had to see our classmates slowly, one by one, leave us. Lana and her parents lived just a short distance from us when growing up. She was a quiet, gentle little girl and young woman. Lana and I spent many overnights with each other and were able to maintain contact through a good part of the '60 and '70! After that we drifted apart.
We spent most of our playtime with our dolls. Lana had one of the first life-sized dolls I can remember. She was such a very special person and, as her own children arrived, showed that all the 'pretend mothering' had paid off.
I will miss knowing that she is here with us and look forward to joining her at sometime in the years to come. How sad to be loosing so many dear friends with which we have such precious memories! Those memories keep them in our hearts.

Lana was one of my dearest friends from high school. She had a gentle nature and a sweet disposition. She was very sensitive to the feelings of others, and it was a genuine pleasure to be in her company. She was an avid reader and really enjoyed science fiction. She especially liked " The Twilight Zone," a popular TV show in the 60s. As time marched on and we had our families, we did not get to see each other as often as we would have liked. I treasure the phone conversation I had with her about 3 years ago where we were able to reconnect and laugh together again. Lana will always be one of my dearest friends.
