Pastor Alfred Drew "Pastor Fred" Flick

Pastor Alfred Drew Flick (Pastor Fred), age 73, went home to be with his Savior late Sunday night, April 8, 2018, at St Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was the son of the late Elmer Elsworth and Beulah Irene (Koch) Flick. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Leslie, Roger, Gordon, Junior, and he is survived by two brothers, Arthur and Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years and the love of his life, Shirley (Wyman) Flick; his son, Kevin (and Mindy) of Dry Ridge, Ky.; four stepchildren: Lori (and Scott) Ortz of Parker, Pa.; Ron (and Claire) Strauser of Geneva, Ohio; Bonnie (and Rob) Anthony of Shippenville, Pa.; Jeffrey (and Jennifer) Strauser of Colorado Springs, Colo. He is also survived by the following grandchildren: Alli, Aaron, and Adam Flick; Kala (and Derrick) Wilkins; Toby Best; Titus Ortz; Caleb, Kevin, and Kate Strauser; Reed, Ryan and Noel Anthony; Tyler (and Christina), Cameron, and Abbie Strauser; Samantha and Cody Kindel; and Zach Strauser. Greatgrandchildren: Annabelle, Gideon, and Hadassah Wilkins; Olivia and Isaac Best; Bentley Strauser; Tommy and Elizabeth Kindle; and Emma Strauser.
He served in the U.S. Army for approximately 10 1/2 years. He was a Staff Sargeant (E6) and Airborne Ranger. After serving four tours in Vietnam, he received the following decorations: Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, Air Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation.
In 2003, he became a licensed minister in The Church of God (Jerusalem Acres-Cleveland, TN) with the degree of Elder and was appointed as one of the 72 Prophets in the church. In May of 2010, he was appointed as the Pastor of The Church of God located at 922 North Main Street in Jonesboro were he served until his death.
Friends and family were received at a Celebration of Life Service held at The Church of God, 922 North Main Street in Jonesboro, on Thursday, April 12, at 6:30?p.m. with Bishop David Kramer officiating and Presiding Bishop Lavell Craig delivering the sermon.
An additional Celebration of Life Service will be held in Pennsylvania on May 12, 2018, at 3?p.m., at The Church of God, 16836 Route 68, Sligo, PA 16255.
