Mrs. Bonita (Bonnie) Sue Rouse Blohm, age 69, of Crumpler passed away Sunday afternoon, Aug. 28, 2016 at Ashe Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 at 2 pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Chuck Lieberman officiating.
The family received friends from noon-2 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016.
Mrs. Blohm was born in Brooklyn, New York on Jan. 5, 1947 to the late Theodore and Rose Karp Rouse. She was a math teacher in the school system in South Florida for many years. Bonnie was an active volunteer with Arts Council and Habitat for Humanity. She enjoyed quilting and cross stitching, and was a huge Carolina Panthers fan. She was an avid Weight Watcher.
She is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) Jay Blohm; sisters, Robin Rouse, of Massachusetts and Florida and Susan Griffith, of Dallas, Texas; a brother-in-law, Brian Gallagher, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Geri and Walt Dobbs; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a large extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Medi Home Hospice, PO Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640 or Ashe County Habitat for Humanity, PO Box 392, West Jefferson, NC 28694 or Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1710, New York, NY 10122.
