Alice Poehler Obituary

LUMBERTON, N.J. -- Alice I. Poehler, age 90, of Lumberton, New Jersey, formerly of Mattoon, passed from this life at 8:35 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill L. Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Ingraham Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Alice was born May 11, 1914, in Ingraham, Illinois, a daughter of Norva C. and Anna (Colborn) Bryan. She married Richard L. "Dick" Poehler on June 1, 1942, in St. Charles, Missouri. He passed away December 27, 1989. She was also preceded in death by three brothers. Survivors include her son, David Poehler and wife Ann of Lumberton, New Jersey; her sister, Mary Ann Poehler and husband Garland of Louisville; her two brothers, Bob Bryan and wife Jody of Homer and Bill Bryan and wife Erma of Naperville; and two grandchildren, Ernest Poehler and Annalicia Poehler, both of Lumberton, New Jersey. Mrs. Poehler was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mattoon. She especially enjoyed gardening and she was devoted to her family. David...I don't know if you remember me or not but we went to school together and to First Christian together. Was so sorry to read of your mother's death. It's really hard when you're an only child and that last parent passes. My thoughts are with you and your family.
