Gordon Duckworth Obituary
January 27, 1935 - May 23, 2025
Gordon Duckworth, 90, of San Ramon, California, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025.
Gordon was born and raised in Charleston, Illinois, where he met the love of his life, Helen. After marrying, the two moved to Los Angeles, where Gordon attained a master's degree in science and engineering at UCLA, and they began building their family together laying the foundation for a life full of love, laughter, and purpose.
Gordon lived life to the fullest, embracing each day with curiosity, joy, and generosity. Following a long and fulfilling career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, he continued to pursue his passions in retirement by founding Video Pro Recording Company. With a love for videography and editing, he turned his creative interests into a meaningful and successful venture.
Over the past six years, Gordon was cared for by Mark Cavistany from Premier Care Agency. Gordon thought highly of Mark and was deeply grateful for the excellent care and compassion he received during that time.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen; his sons, Mike, Mark, and Matt; his daughter-in-law, Laurie; his grandchildren: Brandon, Shaun, Kyle, Shane, Chase, and Makenzie; and his seven great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and pride. Gordon was a dedicated husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a true friend to many.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Graham-Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton, California. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gordon's life and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

I´ve known Gordon and Helen for about 28yrs.
As long as I´ve known them they´ve been devoted to their family.
Babysitting grandkids, attending all of their school and sports events, hosting Family Holidays, Birthday´s and Neighborhood Block Parties!
Their love story began over 69 years ago.
If we all can take anything away from this day is, the devotion, support, respect, and love they had for one another. They cherished each other their whole lives together!
We will miss you Gordon!
