Max Daugherty Obituary

CHARLESTON -- Services celebrating and honoring the life of Max Daugherty were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Pastor Tom Skinner and Pastor Dan Hutton officiating. The eulogy was given by Tom Daugherty, brother of the deceased. Musical selections included "Amazing Grace", "Brotherly Love", "Love Without End, Amen" and "Grandpa". Pallbearers were Steve Walters, Eddie Walters, Mike McKinney, Jeff Daugherty, Greg Daugherty, Kenny Keefer, Dave Pattin and Larry Chesser. Honorary Pallbearers were Harry Waggle, Bert Snoddy, Mark Cooper, Edward Walters, Bob McKeown, Jim Hood, Arlo Sorheim and Darrell Warman. Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Charleston VFW Paul McVey Post 1592. Participating were: Richard Irby, Detail Commander; Bob Woodyard, Chaplain; Henry Bough and Gary Craig, Flag Detail; Dale Downs, Bugler; Gary Craig and Henry Bough, Color Guard; Jerry Buffenmeyer and Ronald Krukewitt, Color Bearers; and Lester Trueblood, Dave Bradley, Ed Hudson, Max Carpenter, Mike Simaro, Jackie Tucker and Eric Hiltner, Riflemen. Services at the cemetery concluded with a dove release. Mr. Daugherty, age 75 of Charleston, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.
