It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Kevin Ray Daugherty, age 69, who left us peacefully on February 20, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Kevin was born in Vincennes on August 15, 1956, the son of Hubert W. and Barbara Jean (Reitmeyer) Daugherty.
Kevin was a lifelong employee of INDOT and he retired in 2013. He was also a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Vincennes, where he not only shared his faith but also fostered countless friendships with those he cherished. A true and enthusiastic sports fan, Kevin had an unwavering love for Indiana University basketball and football, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals. He had the remarkable ability to recall sports statistics with unparalleled precision, delighting friends and family with his wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm.
Above all, Kevin was a family man. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, creating lasting memories that will forever remain in their hearts. His laughter, warmth, and devotion will be profoundly missed.
Those surviving to cherish Kevin's memories are sisters, Deborah Brothers and her husband Ernie of Evansville, IN, Angela Daugherty of Westfield, IN; nephews, Aaron Brothers, Evan Brothers, Mitchell Brothers and his wife Lana; great niece, Cameron Brothers, Great nephew, Jordan Brothers; Aunt Rosalie Schenk; God son, Adam Schenk; close cousins, Scott Schenk of Vincennes, IN, Kent Williams of Oaktown, IN, two other cousins, David Ellis of Montana and Janelle Ellis, as well as several other cousins. Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Barbara Daugherty.
Friends may visit with Kevin's family from 12:00 pm until the hour of service time of 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church, 707 N. 8th St., Vincennes, IN 47591. Pastor Ron Maxwell will officiate and Kevin will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Daugherty family has requested memorial contributions be made to DaVita Vincennes Dialysis. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is privileged and honored to be entrusted with the care of Kevin and his family. The Daugherty family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Bridgepointe and DaVita Vincennes Dialysis for the kindness, compassion and care shown to Kevin.
