Paul Mitts Obituary

Paul Mosby Mitts, 70, of Jonesboro passed from this life, after a battle with cancer, on Friday May 2nd, 2025 at his Jonesboro home surrounded by his family. He was born April 2nd, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Clyde B. and Imogene "Ditty" Mitts. He lived in Mountain Brook, Alabama, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1980. Paul joined the Canterbury Methodist Church in Mountain Brook. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from Arkansas State University, attending both the Beebe and Jonesboro campuses and became a life long fan and season ticket holder of Red Wolves football. Paul also served a 4-year enlistment in the United States Navy, assigned to the USS Constellation as an A-10 Thunderbolt mechanic where he became a passionate student of astronomy during two Pacific Ocean cruises. He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Mitts. Survivors include his mother, Imogene "Ditty" Mitts; brothers, Clyde Ellis Mitts (Jenny Sargent) and Eric (Mary Jo) Mitts, as well as nephews Paul Mitts and Devin Mitts and numerous first cousins. He will be greatly missed. At the request of the family, all services will be private. Emerson Funeral Home
