CORNING - Carlos Lester, 80, of Corning, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas.
Mr. Lester was born in Corning on Dec. 15, 1941. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Police where he served for 33 years.
He was also a former Corning Police Officer and an electrician. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was a certified firearms instructor, and he enjoyed woodworking, electronics, camping, building model ships and flying drones.
He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Corning.
He married the love of his life, Mrs. Bobbie J. Tanner Lester, on April 29, 1961, she survives.
Other survivors include his sister, Linda S. Powers of North Carolina; niece Charla Foster; nephew, Glendal Boyd; several other nieces and nephews; and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Ezra and Lyna Belle Pringle Lester.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Ermert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Crain officiating.
Burial will follow the services in the Corning Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 this evening, Jan. 13.
