Christopher Johnson Obituary

JONESBORO - Christopher Aden Johnson, 63, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023, at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1960, in Jonesboro to William Aden Johnson III and Carolyn Davis Johnson.

Chris was a coin and stamp collector and a member of the Genealogy Society. He enjoyed studying the history of locomotives, mapping caves, sky-warn weather spotting and had been a Boy Scout. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Johnson; two brothers, Tim Johnson (Robin Smith) of Finch and Greg Johnson (Sandra Hathcoat) of Jonesboro; an aunt and uncle, Gary and Mary Sue Johnson of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, Logan Marie Smith (Blaine) of Bono, Dalynn Timothy Johnson (Laura) of Walcott and Madison Claire Johnson Milton (Anthony) of Jonesboro; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Aden Johnson III, and his grandparents.

A celebration of his life will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Vanderbilt officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. The visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Greg Johnson, Tim Johnson, Anthony Milton, Dalynn Johnson, Blaine Smith and Garrett Metheny, and as honorary pallbearers, Gary Ezell and the men of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
