JONESBORO – Margaret Rose Smith Hall, 81, of Jonesboro, departed this life at Ridgecrest Nursing Home on May 30, 2023, after an extended illness. She was born in Covington, Ky., on Oct. 16, 1941.
Margie, as she was known, lived much of her life in Cincinnati, where she was a graduate of St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing and became a surgical intensive care unit registered nurse at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
She later pursued her love of painting and graduated with honors in Fine Arts from DAAP, University of Cincinnati. Margie became a noteworthy artist in the Cincinnati area, specializing in large scale oil paintings.
Margie leaves behind a loving husband, Dr. George Hall of Jonesboro. She was the devoted mother to George Scott Jr., Matthew and Justin and grandmother to Elena and George Scott Hall III, all of Cincinnati.
Other family members include Barbara and Dr. Ray Hall, Cathy and Dr. John David Hall and Millie Jo Collins, all of Jonesboro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date with family members.
