MANILA - Nelson Edward Morris, 85, of Manila, passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, at his home. Born in Manila he was the son of the late Carl and Kathryn Newcomb Morris and was a 1958 graduate of Manila High School. He was an entrepreneur and had owned and operated several businesses including Morris and Son Construction and Gem Dandy Rentals. He also worked several years as a salesman for John Deere in Hughes, and retired as a maintenance man for Westminster Village in Gosnell. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and Big Lake Country Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Morris, and a brother Carrol Morris.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Pat Morris of the home, two sons, Eddie Morris of Manila, and Randall (Tamara) Morris of Austin, Texas, one daughter, Trina Pearson (Terry) of Manila.
He also leaves his former daughter-in-law, Donna Morris of Manila, six grandchildren, Dawn, Casey, Cody, Lexie, Shane, and Alex, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 15, 11 a.m., at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
