JONESBORO - Opal Irene Broglen, 91, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at Ridgecrest Nursing Home.
Irene was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Russell, to the late Jurd and Ruth Carter Nelson. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for the family business, Al Broglen Construction. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and cooking and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
She is survived her children, Randy Broglen, Vicki Brickey and Gina Belk; grandchildren, Scott Broglen (Amanda), Christy Bass (Kenneth), Jennifer Holland (Jeremy), Janette Tolbert (Ron Tucker), Brody Belk (Brooke), Madalyn Condray (Justice), Billy Brickey (Kim), Beth Morris (Jonathan), Brian Brickey and Oliver Broglen; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Broglen; a daughter, Kathy Tolbert, and two grandchildren, Nikki Tolbert and Tyler Ray King.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. today (Dec. 15) at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
A private graveside service will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Paul White officiating.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scott Broglen, Billy Brickey, Brian Brickey, Brody Belk, Jeremy Holland and Kenneth Bass, and as honorary pallbearers, Cody Brickey, Jonathan Morris, Oliver Broglen, Zac Broglen and Greg Broglen.
