JONESBORO - Ruth P. Springle, 96, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born Oct. 29, 1927, in Monette to the late John and Emma Belle Harrison Barber. She was of the Baptist faith.
She spent most of her life in Jonesboro, was a loving mother, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers and traveling.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, John B. Springle, son-in-law, Richey Whittingham, five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte (Norman) Dickson of Jonesboro, Pamela Whittingham of Bono and Cathy (Terry) Tankersley of Troutville, Va.; grandchildren, Drs. Scott (Heather) Dickson, Bradley (Lara) Dickson, Kristi (Chris) Viala and Kevin (Ashley) Whittingham of Jonesboro, Kayla (Dr. Cody) Patterson of Bono, Michelle (Marvin) Haines of Hillsboro, Va., and Tiffany (Brandon) Uhl of Lexington, Va.; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at noon today, Aug. 6, at Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of the service. Interment will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Kevin Whittingham, Dr. Scott Dickson, Bradley Dickson, Cody Patterson, Chris Viala, Marvin Heines and Brandon Uhl.
In lieu of flowers, lasting memorials may be sent to the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 E. Matthews Ave., Jonesboro 72401.

RUTH BARBER was the daughter of Emma Belle Harvison and John Edward Barber. The Granddaughter of John M. Harvison. John Harvison is buried in Black oak Cemetery.
