Sarah Burris Obituary
TRUMANN - Sarah Jane Burris, 94, of Trumann, departed this life Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Three Rivers Health and Rehabilitation in Marked Tree. She was born Jan. 31, 1929, in Elkins, to Denzel and Hazel Gabbard.
She had lived the last 29 years in the Trumann area and was formerly of California. She loved quilting, sewing and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Burris, a son, Ralph E. Burris, three sisters, two brothers and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Joe) Waleszonia of Trumann; her son, Dennis (Pam) Burris of Grass Valley, Calif.; her sister, Glannis King of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, Ronnie (Liz) Burris, Alyson Burris, Jody (Ashlee) Waleszonia, Amy Waleszonia, Tiffany (John) Zorich, Anthony (Karyn) Roth; 13 great-grandchildren, Emily Burris, Bella Ray, Joseph Waleszonia, Jacob Waleszonia, Karlee Waleszonia, Sarah Halfacre, Anna Waleszonia, Jane Merkle, Ethan Zorich, Tyler Roth, Brandon Roth, Nathan Bingham and Emma Bingham; and one great-great-grandchild, Kensley Jane Blake.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A celebration of her life will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. John Maley officiating. Burial will be private.
The family gives special thanks to the employees of Three Rivers Nursing Home for the loving care of Mom.
