EDNA LINTNER Obituary
EDNA LINTNER
Edna "Darlene" Lintner passed away on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, at the age of 93, after a joyful and beautiful life.
Darlene was born in Malvern to William and Violet Scott on December 7, 1931. She attended Tabor High School and was a stand-out point guard prior to her graduation in 1949. Along with her parents and siblings, she was ever-present at local rodeo grounds, trick riding as one of the Scott Sisters Trio.
On a vibrant night at the Tabor dance hall, Myron Lintner danced his way into Darlene's heart. Excited to start their life together, they were married in the Congregational Church the day after Valentine's Day in 1953. This past February, they celebrated 72 years of everlasting love and marriage.
Throughout their marriage, Myron and Darlene built a family that they were tremendously proud of, including their four sons Kevin, Loren, Patrick, and Darin. Of all the things she did in her life, her role as a mother and grandmother was her most beloved. Everyone was family when you rang the bell outside of the kitchen door.
Darlene's life was filled with adventure, pursuing her hobbies of gardening, quilting blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and volunteering with the Sidney Rodeo ticket office and Rodeo Board. Rodeo remained a key cornerstone of her life, along with her active and enthusiastic involvement in the Saddle Club, Auxiliary, and Legion Clubs.
The Lintner farm outside of Sidney was her home and saw many days of grandchildren playing Skip-Bo on the kitchen table, Loretta Lynn playing throughout the house, Darlene sitting on the front porch, gardens overflowing, and tomatoes being canned in the early fall. Bowls full of Hershey's Hugs, bird feeders outside the kitchen windows, Nebraska volleyball on the tv, and angel food cakes for each birthday highlight beautifully the life that Darlene lived.
She is preceded in death by and has joined in heaven her parents William and Violet Scott, her sisters Margaret Simpson and Willa Dean Lang, and her brother Ron Scott.
Remaining to celebrate and honor Darlene's legacy are her husband Myron; her four boys Kevin (Deb), Loren (Micky), Patrick (Gail), Darin; her eleven grandchildren Robert (Tracy), Shawn (Jo), Tracie (Ryan), David, Brandon (Alina), Carly (John), Amy (Anthony), Samantha (Huston), Jacob, Sydney (Zach), Cody; her sister Judy Olson (Jerry Wayne); and her 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving friends and extended family, including Lisa Lintner, Ryan (Emily) Scott, Kay Whipple, and Maelee Spencer.
