Angelo A. Parlapiano

Angelo A. Parlapiano, 89, of Enfield, entered into peace on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at home.

Born in Hartford, son of the late Felice and Maria Angiolina (DiNardo) Parlapiano, he was a resident of Enfield for over 60 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Arlene (Barnard) Parlapiano in 2017. Angelo was employed as a correctional officer for the State of Connecticut for 23 years. He was also a licensed plumber. Angelo was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a lifelong member and an Elder at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Enfield.

Besides being predeceased by his wife, he was also predeceased by a son, Michael Parlapiano in 2020. He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Parlapiano and her husband, Allen Wolovick of Foxboro, Massachusetts; a son, Mark Parlapiano and his wife, Sandra Sawicki of Stafford Springs; a daughter, Audrey Shablom and her husband, Timothy of Florida; a daughter, Angela White and her husband, Ryan of Waterbury; a daughter, Loretta DeLeon of Westfield, Massachusetts; a daughter, Rozanne Droney and her husband, Patrick of Enfield; a daughter, Gloria Walker of Enfield; a son, Anthony Parlapiano and his wife, Cali of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts; two brothers, Michael Parlapiano of Manchester, Carmine "Sam" Parlapiano and his wife, Mary Ann of Windsor; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, John and Dominick.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, followed by services at 11 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of Redeemer, 20 North St., Enfield, with Pastor Michael Coons, officiating. The burial will follow in Hazardville Cemetery.
