Ann Markowski Obituary
Born in Springfield on March 21, 1921, daughter of the late Francesco and Fortuna (Riccardi) DeCaro, she had lived in Hazardville for most of her life. Ann was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Hazardville. Ann dedicated her life to her home and family.
She leaves a daughter, Susan Francoeur, and her husband, Robert, of East Longmeadow, Mass.; a sister, Rose Marie Falcone of Westerly, R.I.; three grandchildren, Alexander Francoeur, and his wife, Nicole, of Brighton, Mass., Michael Francoeur of New York, N.Y., and Andrew Francoeur of East Longmeadow, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, MaryAnn Markowski; three brothers, Vincent, Joseph, and John DeCaro; and three sisters, Mary Zancan, Carmella Bellotti, and Celia Avonti.
Family and friends may gather on Monday, April 7, at 9 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Hazardville. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, April 6, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations may be made in Ann's name to the LPVEC-SDC program where her grandson, Andrew, attends school, 174 Brush Hill Ave., West Springfield, MA 01089. For online expressions of sympathy and for directions visit us at
