Arlene M. Zdanis, 66, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, August 20, 2023.She is survived by her brothers: Paul Zdanis and his wife Mylene of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Mark Zdanis and his wife Crystal of Vernon, CT, her sister Nancy Zdanis and her husband Jeff Lariviere of Westfield, MA; her nephews: Sean Zdanis, Brendan Zdanis, Cole Zdanis and Troy Zdanis; her best friends of 45 years Joyce Clark and godson Justin Clark of South Windsor, CT along with several grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and friends.
Arlene was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Francis E. and Veronica (Toth) Zdanis. She graduated from South Windsor High School in 1976 and earned her associate degree in early childhood education from Manchester Community College.
Arlene dedicated 26 years of her life working at the popular Steak Club/ The Colony Banquet Facility that eventually became George's located in Vernon, CT, until her retirement. She loved to service the local community and hosted many UCONN Women Basketball team events. Her hobbies include movies, theatre, visiting Ogunquit, ME, concerts and hanging out with friends and family. All who knew Arlene will miss her dearly. She was a positive inspiration to so many people despite her medical challenges. She was always positive and a very giving and caring person.
All are welcome to join her family for calling hours at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon, CT 06066 on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 12 :00 p.m. at the funeral home.
