Carolyn Stack Obituary

Carolyn "Carol" Marie Stack
Carolyn "Carol" Marie Stack (nee Gagnon), 82, of Suffield, CT passed away on September 5, 2024, while residing at Suffield House in Suffield, CT. She is survived by her beloved husband, T. Francis "Frank" Stack of Suffield, CT, to whom she was married for a loving and devoted 58 years. She is also survived by her son, Christopher Stack, her daughter-in-law Sabine and granddaughter Yvaine of Reston, Virginia; her daughter, Colleen Stack of London, England; her brother, Jean-Paul Gagnon of Kansas City, Kansas; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Carol will be reunited in heaven with her precious son, Gregory, who died of leukemia at the age of 3 in 1971. Carol felt the loss of Gregory for the rest of her life, and her family takes great comfort in the faith that she is now together with him once again. She is also predeceased by her mother and father, Helen and Rock Gagnon, and her brother Fred Gagnon of Naugatuck, CT.
Carol was an avid animal lover and cared for four family dogs and a very special rescue cat over many years. Carol was a retired secretary, having worked both for the Town of Enfield's Parks and Recreation Department and Leete-Stevens Family Funeral Homes over the course of her career. She attended St Ann's Elementary School and Croft High School, both in Waterbury, CT. She had also trained and practiced as a pediatric newborn aide at Providence Hospital in Springfield, MA. Carol was a devout Catholic and was a Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church in Suffield, CT. Carol's family are immensely grateful to the wonderful nurses, aides, and staff at Suffield House for taking such loving care of her and Frank during the months spent in their care.
A wake will be held from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on September 10, 2024, at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd., Suffield, CT (Please Meet directly at Church). Burial will be held privately at a later date. The family would welcome any donations made in her honor to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200 Rye Brook, NY 10573, and the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
