Celia Rutherford Obituary

Celia V. (Woronecki) Rutherford, 95, of Suffield, loving wife of the late George P. Rutherford Sr., entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Bickford Health Care Center in Windsor Locks.

Celia was born June 29, 1918, in Windsor Locks, the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Bezcnski) Woronecki. Celia was born in Windsor Locks and at a young age moved to Enfield with her family. She was a graduate of Enfield High School, Class of 1935. Celia was a resident of West Suffield for over 42 years. She was employed for Hamilton Standard and retired in 1983 after 30 years of service. Celia was a faithful communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed painting in her leisure time. Two of the most important things in Celia's life were church and her family.

She is survived by her son, George P. Rutherford Jr., and his wife, Joan, of Richardson, Texas; two grandchildren, Christine Parker, and her husband, Gregg, of Dallas, Texas, and Susan Crumpley, and her late husband, Joey, of Wylie, Texas; and four great-grandchildren, Morgan Parker of Dallas, Texas, Courtney Nakos, and her husband, Spiro, of College Station, Texas, Nicole Crumpley of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Jessica Harris, and her husband, Derick, of Wylie, Texas; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Nolan Nakos.

Celia's family would like to thank her great-niece, Angie Woronecki, for providing wonderful care for Celia for many years and the nurses and staff at Arden Court of Avon and Bickford Healthcare Center for the skillful and compassionate care Celia received.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday, March 7, 2014, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, with a funeral procession gathering at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Road (Route 168), Suffield. George & family,
It is with deep sorrow to learn of Ceil's passing and my deepest sympathy to her wonderful family. I had many work related programs with Ceil when she was in Engineering Records and we always found time to chat about our families and your dad's visits with and driving my dad to Lodge. Your Mom always had a smile on her face and was a wonderful and caring person. We did get together on Warnertown Road for more fun and laughs. She will be greatly missed but has left beautiful memories for all who knew her.
God Bless you all,

Dan Lam
