Comelio DeCarli Obituary

Comelio "Charlie" DeCarli, 94, of Manchester, husband of 62 years to the late Amelia "Millie" (Lehman) DeCarli, passed away Monday, October 2, 2006.

He was born September 5, 1912, in North Haven and was raised in Stafford before moving to Manchester many years ago. Charlie was a heavy equipment operator for Jarvis Construction for over 42 years until his retirement. He was a communicant of St. James Church in Manchester and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478.

Charlie is survived by his son, Dr. Robert P. DeCarli and his wife, Catherine, of Wethersfield; his grandson, David M. DeCarli and his wife, Susan, and their daughter, Stephanie, of Wethersfield.

The DeCarli family would like to thank the staff of the Pathways Unit at Hamilton Heights Place, as well as the nurses from St. Francis Hospice.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services and burial in St. James Cemetery in Manchester will be private.

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 114 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105, or the Alzheimer's Association, 279 New Britain Road, Kensington, CT 06037.

Holmes Funeral Home, Manchester, has care of the arrangements.
