Dana Hand Obituary

Dana R. Hand, 81, of Mooers Forks, N.Y., beloved husband of the late Mary (Moore) Hand, passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Ludlow, Maine, son of the late John and Myrtle (Gaskin) Hand. Dana retired from Tire Town as a mechanic.

He is survived by a son, Mark D. Hand and Rosemary Sherman of Windham; four daughters, Shari Sammons and her husband, Dean, of Rome, Ga., Ellen Backhaus and her husband, Thomas, of Mooers Forks, N.Y., Marilyn Titone and her husband, William, of Stafford Springs, and Lisa DeJesse and her husband, Joseph, of Eastford; five grandchildren, Melissa and Jessica Paradis, Mark D. Hand Jr., and Christine and Mary DeJesse; three great-grandchildren, Trevon, Nicole, and Sean; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers, Charles, Arnold, Alan, Carroll, and John.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, from 12 to-1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held in St. Monica Cemetery, Cary, Maine, at a later date.
