Daniel Lacroix Obituary

Daniel J. Lacroix, "Big Dan", 85, of Coventry, formerly of East Granby, died Aug. 4, 2021, after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Fairfax, Vermont on Jan. 14, 1936. He was married for 25 years to Janice LaCroix [LaPenta]. He spent 52 years employed with Roncari Industries/Tilcon/Galasso, Union member of Local 478, as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 2004. After retirement he spent the next 14 years as the maintenance supervisor at the New England Air Museum. He enjoyed working outside in his yard, enjoying a big steak and a goblet of his favorite wine with family or visiting friends at J&Gs.

He is survived by a son, Daniel Jr. of Unionville; two stepchildren, Adam Lubas and his wife, Aimee of Weymouth, Massachusetts, Amy Senna and her husband, David of Coventry; six grandchildren, Chris LaCroix and his wife, Krysten, Matt LaCroix and his wife, Julia, Anthony, Jackson and Charlotte Senna and Spencer Lubas; and two great-granddaughters Emmy and Millie LaCroix.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of BIG DAN. I had the pleasure to have known and worked with him for over 55 years. He was a great guy and surely will be missed by anyone who knew him. Our memories of, and with Big Dan will bring smiles to our faces always.
