Denis G. Audet

Denis G. Audet, 86, of Enfield, husband of the late Laurence "Laurie" (Lefebvre) Audet (2014), entered into eternal peace Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, with his loving family at his bedside at St. Joseph's Residence in Enfield.

One of 11 children, Denis was a son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Boulay) Audet.

He was born and raised in the beautiful and rural town of Hyde Park, Vermont. He later moved to Connecticut and resided in West Suffield, Enfield, and East Windsor before moving back to Enfield, where he had lived since 1992. Denis had been a farmer for most of his life and enjoyed working outdoors alongside Mother Nature. He was formerly employed at St. Joseph's Residence, from which he retired after 10 years as their custodial manager. Denis loved his family, especially spending time with his children. He also enjoyed puzzles in his free time.

He is survived by five children, Joseph Audet and his wife, Debra, of Broad Brook, Marie Audet, of East Hartford, Lise Audet, of Enfield, Denise Durkee and her husband, John, of Westfield, Massachusetts, and Beatrice Audet, of Manchester; three brothers, Maurice Audet and his wife, Suzie, and Andrew Audet and his wife, Nancy, all of Morrisville, Vermont, and Roger Audet and his wife, Alicia, of Hyde Park; four sisters, Theresa Lorton and Claire Loyer and her husband, Fred, all of Burlington, Vermont, Noella Tillison, and Jeannette Pino and her husband, Skip, all of Morrisville; He also leaves 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Laurie, Denis was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Paul, and Ronald Audet.

Calling hours will be held at St. Joseph's Residence, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary prayer service at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the St. Joseph's Residence Chapel. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Joseph's Residence Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.
