Edward E. Davis, 97, "OPA" died peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025, with his family at his side. He was born on March 16, 1927, in Concord, NH to Wilfred and Marie (St. Cyr) Davis, and was the last of seven siblings. Ed grew up in New Hampshire and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Ed and his beloved wife, Maria, settled and began raising their family in Enfield in 1956. They were faithful parishioners of Holy Family Church since its inception and were involved in the church and community in many capacities over the years. Ed retired from a remarkable career of over 30 years at Kaman Aerospace and also worked part-time at Wickes Lumber for 16 years. Ed was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Springfield Turnverein in Agawam. In his later years, he enjoyed fellowship and singing with the Goldtones at the Enfield Senior Center, working in his yard, and attending his great-grandchildren's activities. He also looked forward to his monthly breakfast with his fellow Kaman Retirees. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and thoroughly enjoyed his UCONN Basketball games.
Ed is survived by his children, Edward Davis and his wife Janice, Claudia Howarth and her husband Robert, Gregory Davis and his wife Karen and Jacqueline Teske and her husband Donald; his grandchildren, Kyle Lynes and her husband Mark Paquette, Tyler Howarth and his wife Ashley, Travis Howarth and his fiancé April, Stephen Davis and his wife Kate, Spencer Davis and his wife Amanda, Garrett Davis, Austin Davis and his fiancé Madelyn, Gillian Davis, August Teske and Peyton Teske; his 13 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He also leaves behind his Howard Street neighbors with whom he had a special bond. Ed is predeceased by his wife, Maria, who passed in 2012.
Relatives and friends may join the family on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield. (Please meet directly at church).
