Felix Luke DeRosa, 95, of South Windsor, died peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Kimberly Hall after a brief illness. Felix was born in Hartford, CT, on February 1, 1930, son of the late John and Jenny (DeNino) DeRosa. He grew up in Hartford and was a graduate of St. Patrick School.
After a brief stint as a skilled furrier, Felix worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a machinist. He retired after many years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a member of the East Hartford Sportsman's Club and the Rockville Fish & Game Club.
Felix loved his family and was always there when they needed something. They have fond memories of Uncle Felix coming over at a moment's notice to build or fix something. In retirement he and his brother John DeRosa were a welcome sight for friends and family as this two-man crew came to do handyman jobs. Felix was devoted to his Aunt Mary Falletti who held a special place in his life and lived with her and cared for until her passing well into her 80s.
He leaves his brothers, Francis DeRosa, Sr., of Old Lyme, Robert DeRosa of South Windsor, John DeRosa, Sr., of South Windsor, and William DeRosa and his wife Lynn of Venice, FL; his sister, Patricia DeRosa of South Windsor; and many nieces and nephews Francis DeRosa Jr., Jean Privitera, Terry DeRosa, Deborah Duval, Susie DeNicola, Robert DeRosa, Jr., Linda Kmiec, Jackieann DeRosa, John DeRosa, Jr., Jenny Bergeron, Beth- Ann Stefanick, William DeRosa, Jr., Christine Andrews, Jennifer Yncera, Diane Garcia, Jennifer Noss, John DeRosa, Carolyn DeRosa, Elizabeth Reilly. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard DeRosa, and his aunt, Mary Falletti who helped raised Felix after his mother died suddenly at a young age.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, 11 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in East Hartford.
