Francis Nai Obituary
He was born in Windsor Locks, the son of the late Frank and Angelina (Diana) Nai. Mario was a resident of Enfield for over 60 years and prior to retiring had been employed with the Town of Enfield Parks and Recreation for over 30 years. Mario was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the John Maciolek Post No. 154 American Legion, Enfield. He was an avid Yankee and Green Bay Packer fan. As a young man Mario played semi pro baseball and enjoyed sporting events. Mario, a member of St. Martha's Parish, had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra Broderick Nai, in 2012. Mario is survived by two sons, Francis Nai Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Enfield, and Michael Nai of Enfield. He also leaves three grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, and Stephanie. Mario is survived by a brother, Peter, and his wife, Josie, of Enfield; a brother, Jerry, of Suffield; a sister, Theresa Stoddard, of Suffield; a sister, Angel, and her husband, Edward McCarthy, of Enfield; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Charles; and three sisters, Frances Sic, Mary Landry, and Phyllis Fisher.
The family will receive relatives and friends Monday, July 14, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Martha's Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield, with Military Honors to follow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery.
