Frank Mursko Obituary

Frank Mursko
06/05/2024
Frank Paul Mursko, 75, of Manchester, CT, peacefully passed into the arms of his heavenly family on Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, at home, with his family by his side.
Frank was the son of the late Mary and Andrew Mursko, and brother of the late Jacqueline Mursko. He was raised in North Haven, CT, on Round Hill Road.
Frank met his future wife, Karen, in 1967, while they both attended Quinnipiac College. They graduated from the University of Connecticut, were married in 1972, and made Manchester their home. Frank began his 43-year career in pension and investment services in 1971.
Frank enjoyed fatherhood, playing an active role in parenting as a coach and role model. Frank modeled the traditional values and high standards that he instilled in those with whom he was close to. He was loving, loyal, ethical, and very hardworking. Frank took pride in his home, lawn, and garden. He loved pets, particularly dogs.
Being Catholic was very important to Frank. He was a devout parishioner at Assumption Church, often volunteering his time to the parish. Frank looked forward to holidays and family gatherings, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving traditions.
Frank loved baseball and hockey. His loyal support of the New York Yankees was life-long, and his joy of watching them beat the Boston Red Sox led to lots of good-natured rivalry with friends and coworkers. Frank's other favorite sports teams were the Hartford Whalers and UCONN basketball teams.
Frank was always able to charm with his classy winning smile and sparkling blue eyes. He took great pride in his appearance, was sharply dressed, and impeccably groomed. Despite the challenges that he faced during his life, Frank remained optimistic and realistic.
Frank is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen, and his two sons, Andrew of Issaquah, WA, and Matthew of Berkley, MA. He was a proud father-in-law to Amy and Thais, and grandfather to Emma, Jack, and Allondra.
Public visiting will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, in Manchester, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Church in Manchester. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, in West Haven, CT.
