Gerald Burr Obituary

Gerald S. Burr, 73, of Coventry, formerly of Vernon, died on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1942, in Dover, New Hampshire, son of the late Samuel G. and Alice Louise (Coleman) Burr. Gerald was employed for many years at the Cheney Brothers mills in Manchester and more recently with the Travel Centers of America. He enjoyed his trips to New Hampshire, and he was an avid cat lover.

Gerald is survived by his three children, Christina Grimmeisen and her husband, David of Coventry, Eric Burr and Patricia Cushman of Manchester, and Michael Burr of Moultonboro, New Hampshire; his three grandchildren, Jordan, Morgan, and Timothy; his three great-grandchildren, Tristen, Mason, and Aria; his three brothers, Richard Burr, Ronald Burr, and John Burr; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St. Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118.
