Gerald "Gerry" Bernard Ouellette
Gerald "Gerry" Bernard Ouellette, age 82, a devoted family man and active community member, passed away on July 22nd, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Lucille (Pagani) Ouellette, sharing 58 wonderful years of marriage. Born to Irene (Allie) and Rene Ouellette, in Biddeford, ME, the youngest of their five children.
After graduating high school, Gerry joined the Navy, serving as an engineer on the USS Lake Champlain aircraft carrier. When returning home, he had a long career as a machinist and retired from Peerless Tool Company in his hometown of Enfield.
In 1965, he married his soulmate, Lucille (Pagani) Ouellette, and together they raised their two children, Jill and Craig. Gerry's life was marked by his dedication to family, faith and friends. He lived with honesty and kindness, bringing joy to everyone he met. His faith was a very important part of his identity and was a devout member of Holy Family Church in Enfield, CT.
His passion for golf was well-known by everyone he met. Gerry was a member of the Firefighters of Enfield golf league and Manchester Country Club. He was a loyal friend, known for his ability to fix anything. He was humble, hardworking, and always ready to help others.
However, above all his interests and accomplishments, Gerry cherished his family most. He is survived by his wife Lucille. He was the proud father of his children Craig Ouellette, his wife Kit (Noyes) of Somers, Jill (Ouellette) Sarra and her husband Ron Sarra of South Windsor. He was a doting grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Adin Ouellette, Will Provencher, Danielle (Provencher) Rosen and her husband William Rosen. He cherished his two great-granddaughters, Emily and Maeve. Gerry was a dear brother to Richard Ouellette and his wife Josephine of Enfield, stepbrothers Fernand and Richard Verrier of Bradenton, FL and many treasured nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Robert and sisters Germaine and Pauline.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, July 28th at Browne Memorial Chapels in Enfield CT from 4-6 p.m. A Mass will be held on Monday, July 29th at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Enfield, CT with military honors following immediately after.

Lucille and family my sincere sympathy in the loss of your dear husband, father, grandfather. Gerry was a wonderful person. Very caring, friendly and always willing to help at a moments notice. I truly enjoyed your´s and Gerry´s walks through Maple Heights and stops so we could enjoy some french conversation and laughter while watching Lucille´s quizzical expressions. I will sincerely miss Gerry and his smile and big heart he shared with all. RIP Gerry.
