Griffin Sernoffsky Obituary
He was born in Hartford on Jan. 5, 1997, and was a senior at Coventry High School. Griffin was a kind, funny, and loving son and brother who was always up for the shenanigans of the day. He was often heard asking "What fun is going to happen today?" He loved skiing, especially in Maine, longboarding around town, paintball and airsoft with his friends, along with fishing and sailing. He had a great love of a wide variety of music. He was a member of the high school concert and jazz band, where he played the baritone sax and recently taught himself to play the tuba. He was a member of the varsity wrestling team and the after school cricket club.
Curious by nature, Griffin took an interest in a wide variety of subjects, not the least of which was what his friends and peers were up to. His approach was as real as the situation called for and often conveyed his sarcastic, biting humor as well as kindness.
He will be cherished forever by his mom, dad; sister Julia; dog Reilly; and a long list of extended family and friends.
In the spirit of this kindness, his legacy will continue in others by his gift of organ donation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Coventry Scholarship Foundation in Griffin's name at 78 Ripley Hill Road, Coventry, CT 06238.
There are no calling hours but friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life at Second Congregational Church, 1746 Boston Turnpike (Route 44), Coventry, Sunday, May 3, at 5 p.m.

Griffin was a great friend and the class of 2015 is not the same without him, he will be missed everyday. I think of him often and I know he will be with us at graduation this June. I am so sorry for your loss my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I only met Griffin briefly at one of my son's school concerts, but he made an impression and I was struck by what a good kid he was, along with being a talented musician. I can't imagine your pain a line from an old Eagles song goes We who must remain, go on living just the same. God bless, and Godspeed Griffin.
