Kenneth Bahler Obituary
Kenneth Bahler, 95, of Tolland, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving and cherished family. He was the beloved husband of 71 years to Aline F. Bahler.
Ken was born on March 3, 1930, one of 5 children of the late Gottfried and Olga Bahler. He grew up in Ellington and lived in Tolland for over 76 years. Ken worked on the family farm from a very young age until he was 86 years old.
Ken was a longtime dedicated member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Ellington. Along with raising and spending time with his family, that was most important to him, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking drives around town to check on the farm and his grandchildren's projects.
In addition to his wife, Aline, he leaves his children: Vern (Jean) Bahler, Karen (Bruce) Luginbuhl, Ron (Bonnie) Bahler and Carole (Jeff) Gerber, all of Ellington, his cherished grandchildren, Marcy (Myron) Kaeb, David (Jackie) Luginbuhl, Seth (Taylor) Bahler, Nate (Kate) Bahler, Ashley (Ben) Wagenbach, Carly Bahler, Tom (Julianne) Gerber, Josie (Jake) Schneider, Eric Bahler, Benjamin (Heather) Bahler, Brian (Halie) Gerber, Kent Bahler, and Chad Gerber, and 19 much loved great-grandchildren, with another on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Audrey Graf of Wadsworth, Ohio and Kay Luginbuhl of Ellington, numerous nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends. In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by his brother, Owen Bahler, and sister, Glenna Moser. A special thanks to his caregivers, Peggy Bahler, Michelle and Aldeen.
Calling hours will be at the Longview Fellowship Center, 34 Middle Butcher Road, in Ellington, CT 06029, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 2:30-4:30 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be at the Apostolic Christian Church, 34 Middle Butcher Road, in Ellington, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 12:45 pm. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Church of Ellington Alms Fund, 34 Middle Butcher Road, Ellington, CT 06029.
