Leonard J. Anderson Jr.

Leonard J. Anderson Jr., 74, of North Fort Myers, Florida, and formerly of Manchester, died Friday, June 20, 2014, in Florida.

Leonard was born Dec. 6, 1939, in Manchester, son of the late Leonard J. Anderson Sr. and the late Lena (Mazzoli) Anderson. He attended local schools, became an automobile mechanic, and was part owner/operator of Anderson Brothers Service Station on Main Street in Manchester for almost 40 years. He attended Trinity Covenant Church in Manchester and was a member of the Manchester Elks Lodge 1893. Len enjoyed automotive sports such as NASCAR and Late Modified Racing.

He was married to his late wife, Judith A. (Runge) Anderson, and he is survived by their sons, Leonard J. Anderson III and his wife, Martha, of Manchester, Kevin M. Anderson and his wife, Lucy, of Enfield, and Thomas D. Anderson and his wife, Jennifer, of Willington. He also leaves his sister, Barbara A. Anderson, and his brother, David A. Anderson, both of Manchester; three grandchildren, Taylor Anderson and Joey Anderson, of Newington and Brandon Anderson of Manchester; his niece, Sharon Torneo; and great-nephew, Declan Torneo. Len was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Carol Anderson of Manchester; and his uncles and aunts, Edward and Lillian Dehan of Toledo, Ohio, and Bruno and Doris Mazzoli of Manchester.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who took care of our Dad these last few weeks.

Private graveside services with burial took place in St. James Cemetery, Manchester.
