Louis Valente Obituary

Louis Bini Valente
Louis Bini Valente, 93, a cherished husband, devoted father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce (Baird) Valente, with whom he shared many years of love and companionship.
Born in Hartford on November 17, 1930, Louis was the son of the late Frank and Madeline (Bini) Valente. He spent his early years in Wethersfield, where he attended Wethersfield High School and excelled in soccer, becoming a valued member of the school's first championship team. Later in life, Louis developed a passion for duckpin bowling and spent countless enjoyable hours at Villa Rose with family and friends.
Louis's career spanned several decades, beginning with his employment at First National Supermarkets and Guido's market in Southington. Eventually, he fulfilled his entrepreneurial dreams by owning and operating Wethersfield Market alongside his beloved wife, Joyce. Together, they served the community with dedication and warmth, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed their path.
Outside of work, Louis found joy in simple pleasures. He relished family gatherings, especially over breakfast and sweet treats. He took pride in tending to his yard and nurturing his cherished tomato plants in his garden, finding solace and contentment in nature's beauty.
Louis is survived by his children, Ken Valente and his wife Mary, Susan Sussina, and Thomas Valente and his wife Susan. He was a loving grandfather to Erin Omicioli and her husband Bryan, Katherine Valente, Brianna Anderson and her husband George, Sarah West-Paley and her husband Jim, and Stephanie Sussina and her boyfriend Nick. His great-grandchildren, William, Elijah, Luciana, Jackson, Oliver, and Lucca, brought him immeasurable joy. Louis also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
In addition to his parents and wife, Louis was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Frank Valente, his sisters Marie LaPenta, Patricia Valente, and Claire Cetola; his grandson, John Sussina, and his son-in-law, William Sussina.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Church. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Louis's life may be made to the Windsor Locks Food Pantry, 50 Church St, Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
Louis Bini Valente will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering devotion to family, and his enduring impact on the community he called home. His legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
